It has a
wealth of cultural centres: museums, churches and monuments
testify its resplendent past. Worth mentioning is the
Astrological Observatory “F. Caliumi”, open to the public,
situated on the top of Monte Armidda, an ideal
location, free from light pollution. Complementary to the
Observatory is the Grammar School Planetarium, also open to
the public.
The “Trenino Verde” railway unwinds from Lanusei up to the
suggestive heights of Pizzi Cuccu and Su Carmu
from where one can admire the breathtaking landscapes of the
Ogliastra valley.
